Natural HabitatThis subtropical anole is naturally found in the mixed subtropical woodlands and forest areas. Adults require only a 10 gallon size enclosure when keeping them captive. BehaviourMost will become tame with regular handling. Males can become territorial, separate from other males. Hyperactive and hard to hold. Likes dense foliage to climb. Captive EnvironmentUse full spectrum lighting 12-14 hours per day. Provide a basking area with access to a cooler zone. Provide several climbing areas on branches, logs, & plants. TemperatureMaintain gradient temperatures Day temperature should be gradient from 78 to 88 degrees F. Maintain night temperature range between 70-75 degrees F. HumidityThis species requires moderate to high levels of humidity. Water RequirementsMist the enclosure daily for moisture and high humidity. Nutritional RequirementsThis species is a carnivore (meat eater). Dust food with calcium and vitamins. Likes crickets and wax worms. Also eats small insects. |
